Abstract

Heparin is the preferred anticoagulant for cardiac surgery because of its easy availability, monitoring and reversibility. A
few set of patients who are exposed to heparin in the past have a risk of developing heparin-induced thrombocytopenia
which can be dreadful while undergoing any cardiac interventions.
